A catch-all feature that is enabled for a given email mailbox will allow you to receive emails that are sent to email addresses that do not really exist. In other words, if you delete an email address and somebody still sends an email to it, or to any misspelled email address under the exact same domain name, you’ll get the email in the catch-all mailbox. Using this functionality means that you won’t miss an email for any reason, which could be crucial in case you run some business, for example. Since you may start receiving unsolicited messages, you can combine the catch-all feature with anti-spam filtering software in order to receive only legitimate email messages in your inbox. Just one mailbox per domain can be a catch-all one and email forwarding cannot be activated for a catch-all mailbox.

Catch-all Emails in Hosting

If you’ve got a Linux hosting with our company and you’d like to enable the catch-all feature for a particular mailbox that you’ve got in the hosting account, it’ll take literally only a single click in the Email Manager section of your Hepsia Control Panel to do this. A catch-all button is available on the right side of each and every email address that you have created under any domain hosted in your account. You can pick one address per domain name by clicking on the respective button. This will activate the feature instantaneously, so all emails sent to miswritten email addresses will be delivered there. Clicking the button again will deactivate the catch-all feature. In case you’ve got active email forwarding, our system will show a warning note and you won’t be able to enable the catch-all feature unless you remove the forwarding or you can simply choose a different mailbox to be the catch-all one.

Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Servers

The custom-built Hepsia Control Panel that comes with every semi-dedicated server plan that we are offering will permit you to create a catch-all e-mailbox easily even if you don’t have much email/web hosting experience. All you need to do to achieve that is click on the catch-all icon, which will be on the right side of each mailbox that you have created using your domain names in the hosting Control Panel’s Email Manager section. As you can have only one single mailbox with this feature per domain, our system will notify you if you have already configured a different catch-all mailbox or if the one that you want to use has email forwarding enabled. If you decide that you do not need the feature any longer, you can turn it off by clicking again on the same icon. The Email Manager section will also allow you to view your catch-all mailboxes at a glance.
